E.U. GDPR
The GDPR is a relatively recent regulation, and while it provides standards for data transmission and handling it does not mandate a particular security certification or technology. Currently, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) is actively working to develop a unified cybersecurity certification across the E.U. Links to specific regulations appear below.
U.S. Federal Information Protection Standard
NIST sets the cryptographic security standards for the U.S. federal government’s data transfer, software and hardware via the Federal Information Protection Standard (FIPS). More information about their standards appears below:
